I can't believe I spent my lunch hour at the thrift store hunting for fabrics, trims and buttons. I think for me and my art, half of the enjoyment is the hunt. Finding that one perfect button, or rusty piece of metal, or an old photo. Even though I have a room overflowing with "treasures" I still have the need for the hunt. Sometimes it's that one piece that will spark an entirely new direction in my artwork, or maybe complete a piece that has been sitting on a shelf. Whatever the reason, the hunt is definitely part of my being. It makes me giddy to find an old book to alter, or an old wooden frame to build a new artwork. Even if the hunt means I may miss my lunch, every minute is worth it if I find that one precious "treasure". Now if I could only do enough hunting to lose a couple of pounds, I might be able to justify it too!!
